Why I Decided to Try AirTags
As a frequent traveler, a person who shoots content on a regular basis, and someone who lugs equipment everywhere, losing things is practically unavoidable. Your camera bag, your keys, or even your kid in a busy area gets lost when you’re always on the move. That’s where AirTags came into play for me.
I originally bought one to track my camera bag during trips, especially when checking luggage on flights. But soon after, I realized how versatile these trackers could be. I started using them for keys, wallets, backpacks, and even to monitor my kid in malls or at amusement parks. After a full year of regular use, I can confidently say that AirTags have made my life much simpler and far less stressful.
AirTag Price in 2025 💸
Thankfully, AirTags remain pretty affordable in 2025. A single AirTag costs about ₹3000 in India, which is reasonable considering what it offers.

But the secret tip is this: opt for the 4-pack. It’s about ₹10,000 and is very much worth it. Why? Because once you begin using one AirTag, you’ll know you’ll want more. I began with a single one and now have four in use every day. Some even use more than that.
Online stores also often provide bundle discounts, so it’s a good idea to watch for those offers. You can also get third-party accessories and holders that make them more versatile without breaking the bank.
Unboxing – What’s Inside?
Apple gets the unboxing experience just right every time. and Apple AirTag Review is incomplete without unboxing, When you crack open the box, you find yourself presented with a simple, clean design. Each AirTag is individually wrapped in plastic for protection, a tab inserted so the battery cannot come into contact.
The moment you rip the tab, the AirTag comes to life with a nice chime. Next, you just need to hold it near your iPhone — a setup window will automatically appear, walking you through the pairing process.
You can also give the AirTag a name for what you’ll be using it for (e.g., “Backpack,” “Keys,” “Camera Bag”) and even give it an emoji. These little UX touches really make the setup feel effortless and enjoyable.
How the Tech Actually Works 🧰
In this Apple AirTag Review That’s where AirTags become interesting. Unlike GPS trackers, AirTags don’t employ satellites. Instead, they utilize Apple’s “Find My” network. That enormous, worldwide network leverages the Bluetooth signals of surrounding Apple devices — iPhones, iPads, and Macs — to refresh the location of your AirTag.
All of this occurs anonymously and with end-to-end encryption. You are the only one who gets to see where your AirTag is, and Apple does not store that information. It’s a wonderful system that makes virtually every Apple device on the planet into a passive tracking node.
If you’re using an iPhone 11 or later, you get access to “Precision Finding.” This feature uses the U1 chip and Ultra-Wideband technology to provide directional arrows, distance, and haptic feedback to help you locate your item down to the inch. It’s like playing a game of AR treasure hunt, and it’s surprisingly accurate.
That Sound Feature – Is It Loud Enough?
Absolutely. Every AirTag contains a speaker that creates a high-pitched, audible chirping sound when activated through the Find My app. It’s acutely audible and loud enough to find things hidden in couch cushions or buried deep within bags.
This audio feature is not only for locating things — it’s also used by Apple to help with its privacy measures. If someone else’s AirTag is tracking along with you (like one fell into your purse), your iPhone will let you know. If the AirTag is lost, it will begin emitting an audio signal to inform you that it is nearby. This is a key security feature that assists in thwarting stalking and unapproved monitoring.
Durability – Can It Take a Beating?
As tough as it is tiny, the AirTag is designed to be durable. It sports a stainless steel front and plastic rear. I’ve dropped mine in error several times, chucked it into my bag, and left it in the glove box in both summer and winter — and it still functions perfectly.
That being said, the metallic-looking front does scratch relatively easily. If you’re finicky about how your gizmos appear, you may wish to obtain a case. There are lots of alternatives, varying from silicone covers to durable keychain-style protectors.
Battery Life & Replacement 🔋

One of the things I love best about AirTags? You don’t have to charge them.
They employ a typical CR2032 coin cell battery, which can be found just about anywhere and is very cheap. I had the battery in my watch for nearly a year before I got a low-battery notification on my phone.
It’s easy to replace it:
- Twist and push the back cover counterclockwise.
- Insert a new CR2032 battery.
- Twist the cover back on.
It takes less than a minute, and you’re good to go for another year.
Water Resistance – Can It Handle Spills?

Apple AirTag Review is incomplete without water resistance test they are rated IP67, which means they’re dustproof and can survive being submerged in water up to 1 meter deep for up to 30 minutes. So yes, they can handle your average spill or rainstorm.
Mine has seen all types of messes — rain, splashes, kitchen spills, and even a short bout of my toddler’s inquisitive mouth (don’t ask 😅). Still works perfectly well.
Just don’t throw it into a swimming pool or washing machine if you don’t mind taking the risk.
How I Use My AirTags (Real-Life Examples)
Let me show you better how versatile AirTags really are. Here’s how I use mine on a daily basis:
- 📸 Camera Bag: One always rides along in my DJI Osmo Pocket 3 camera bag when I’m on the go. Airport peace of mind.
- 👦 Child’s Pants: I clip one to my child’s belt loop or pocket using a secure clip when we’re at malls or crowded festivals.
- 🛄️ Checked Baggage: I drop one in my bag prior to flights. I am able to check if the bag got on the plane prior to takeoff.
- 🚗 House & Car Keys: Complete time-saver. I previously lost them a minimum of once a week. Now, I simply have it make a sound.
- 💳 Wallet/Drawers: Sometimes I leave one in my wallet or drawers just to see how much I fiddle with things. Do I need to? No. Is it awesome? Yes.
As you get into using AirTags, you start noticing other aspects of your life where they can be applied.
Live Test: Does It Really Work?

To actually test the limits, I had a friend hide my AirTag somewhere within our building. I began searching for it using the Find My app on my iPhone.
As I approached, the Precision Finding feature activated. My phone showed me the direction and distance — and buzzed more as I neared. When I was 2 feet away, it recommended looking at nearby furniture. Within seconds, I’d located it under a couch cushion. That’s how accurate it is.
Even when it was out of range of Bluetooth, the app indicated the last known position. The moment someone carrying an iPhone passed by, the location updated on my phone automatically. This is where Apple’s network really comes into its own. You don’t have to have the AirTag in range of your phone — just within range of any Apple device.
Final Verdict – Should You Get One?
Short answer: Absolutely. ✅
To conclude this Apple AirTag Review I will say If you have an Apple device and are prone to losing things, the AirTag is one of the smartest small purchases you can make. It’s small, consistent, and ridiculously simple to use.
For travelers, on-the-go parents, or forgetful people like me, it’s a given. It’s not a GPS tracker, but it does what you need for day-to-day tracking and recovery.
And due to Apple’s stringent privacy policies, you’re not sacrificing safety either. It’s engineered to avoid abuse while still providing staggering utility.
Thanks for watching — and happy tracking! 💼🌐
